Jacob McCormick is a specialist Colorectal Surgeon. He studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2004. He qualified as a General Surgeon in 2011 having trained through the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He then completed three years of specialist colorectal fellowships in Australia and New Zealand.
He specializes in all areas of colorectal surgery and has a particular interest in minimally invasive management as well as extended surgery for locally advanced and recurrent rectal and pelvic cancers; an area in which he is currently completing a Master’s Degree.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Other areas of expertise include advanced colonoscopy and peritioneal disease, including cytoreduction and heated intra-peritoneal chemotherapy. Supervisor of Colorectal Surgical Training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
